A surprising announcement was seen appearing on 1up.com today. It wasn’t anything on the lines of Hideo Kojima and Shigeru Miyamoto fighting a rooftop battle over Tokyo, but still rather interesting. It turns out that 2K Games is planning on porting its highly popular undersea FPS game Bioshock to the PS3. Any other time it would be valid to think that this is just another Internet rumor, but it seems that on this occasion there are some concrete facts to back it up.
This most recent evidence, as there has been a lot of it popping up on websites all over the Net, pick up the July issue of EGM (available June 3rd ) and find out the facts behind just how Bioshock will be transformed into a PS3playable version just in time for the holiday season. The July issue of EGM will evidently also include an intereview with Ken Levine’s replacement as Creative Director for the Bioshock series, Jordon Thomas, some introductory screenshots, and information about the game and exactly what role Rapture will play in it.
There isn’t much that is known about what shape this PS3 version of Bioshock will take but what is known is that the game will feature augmented graphics and include all downloadable content has been made available up until this point. Bioshock for the PS3 is due to be released sometime this September.
It is uncertain just how much of this is truth and how much of it is speculation. At the time of the writing of this article 2K Games had not released a statement confirming or denying any of the information seen above but September isn’t all that far away (and July is even closer), so stay tuned here to TGR.com for more information on this story as we get it.
