We’ve all seen those British sales charts, the ones that feature crappy Wii games and useless PC titles selling more copies than more deserving fare. However, the land of tea and crumpets seems to have come to its senses, as for yet another week, GTA IV sits atop the charts.
Even though sales fell 22 percent from last week, the title was still able to hold off Rice Driver: GRiD (yet another TOCA game, a series which always sees strong UK sales). Only one of the other games that were released last week managed to stay in the top ten, with Haze dropping from a debut at number three, to a spot at number six this week. Wii Fit saw a substantial drop in sales due to a lack of supply, and slipped all the way from number two in sales to out of the top forty altogether.
In sad news that shows our friends across the Pond still haven’t quite gotten it all together, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is still the number three game. Come on friends, you’re so close to putting it all together, can’t we go ahead and nudge that one on out?
Here’s the full top ten for anyone particularly interested in the purchasing habits of British gamers.
- Grand Theft Auto IV
- Race Driver: GRiD
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
- Wii Play
- Pro Evolution Soccer 2008
- Haze
- Sega Superstars Tennis
- FIFA 08
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
- Mario Kart Wii
