We reported earlier this week on Sony’s plan to eliminate the remaining stock of Sixaxis controllers by bundling them with PS3 games. While the bundles are indeed real, it seems that they will be staying on the European side of the Drink. I’m a bit jealous of the deals: for 60 Euro, players can choose from racing games Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, F1, and Motorstorm, or Game Republic’s quirky action-adventure game Folklore.
The divide between Sony America and Sony Europe continues to baffle me. Each company holds jurisdiction over their own regional Playstation Store, yet when you compare their offerings, you’ll find the European Store lacking; the reverse is true for SingStar’s SingStore. Games quite often are released in one region before the other, and when looking at the differences in offered bundles, you’ll find more than just these Sixaxis bundles. While I understand that localization is a European issue that is completely nonexistant in the US, I would certainly hope that, considering the massive growth in Europe, the two could work together a bit more.
