The word down through the grapevine, or more precisely TheSixthAxis blog, is that the current top guy at Q-Games, Dylan Cuthbert, has officially confirmed that a demo for PixelJunk Eden will be released around the time that this year’s E3 kicks off. It has also been confirmed that the game will include the widely celebrated YouTube uploading feature which gives players the capability, by simply selecting “record video” on the game’s pause menu, to record up to 10 minutes of gameplay video from the PS3 to the user’s individual YouTube account.
PixelJunk Eden is a 2D sidescrolling platformer where the player assuming the role of a being known as a Grimp whose purpose is to collect a material called Spectra by jumping and spinning through the ten levels of the game. Pollen can also be collected as the player moves through the game and can be placed in seed pods scattered throughout the level to grow new plants and to make already existing plants even taller. Every Grimp in the game (a grand total of three) will also possess a thin line of silk that can be used to move from plant to plant or even to swing around in a circle to discover where the location of the next Spectra is.
PixelJunk Eden will support 1080p resolution and will be accompanied by a audio selection composed by Baiyon. All this has created a rush of excitement amidst the development team behind PixelJunk Eden as Mr. Cuthbert stated for the record that they "simply wants everyone to experience it ASAP so we are trying to get the demo out before the release of the game.” Most thoughtful indeed, sir. We commend you.
