One of the bright spots of the PS3 lineup has to be Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Billed as a sort of next evolution of Tomb Raider, Uncharted mixed equal parts exploration and gunplay to craft a fun and compelling tale. Personally, I could have done without the survival-horror turn the game took in the last few chapters, but I’m just one man and what do I know anyway?
Obviously, given the game’s success and obvious attempts to build a franchise, we’ve all been sitting around waiting for the announcement of a sequel. Videogaming247 got tired of waiting, and instead decided to do the sensible thing and ask Naughty Dog what’s up with the new game. The one line response perfectly summarizes why game journalists hate PR departments, and why companies love to be overly cryptic in all their correspondence. Naughty Dog’s latest announcement:
"We can’t say right now. Stay tuned."
So, I suppose I can take that to mean that they’re working on the game, but they can’t talk details. So why can’t you just say that Naughty Dog? Why not just say, "Uncharted 2 is in development, but we don’t have any details regarding gameplay or or release dates at this time." At least give us that much to chew on, haven’t we been good to you?
So there you have the latest news on Uncharted 2; it’s probably coming at some undisclosed date in the future.
So helpful.
