No Problems with PS3 Firmware 2.40 Once Installed
Posted by Brad Hilderbrand, 144 days ago Jul 3, 2008 19:09

Earlier, we reported on the removal of PS3 firmare 2.40 update in light of reports of it crashing systems and forcing users to reformat their hard drives. While many were able to get their updates up and running without incident, those same people are now worried that their PS3 may brick at any time, leaving them to suffer the same fate as the unfortunate few.

According to Sony’s Jeff Rubenstein, those who have already received the update have nothing to fear. "We’ve received no reports of hardware issues following a successful install," he noted.

Now those who have already updated their system can relax. No more holding your breath and silently praying that the PS3 will boot up every time you turn it on. Now then, back to Trophy farming!
