New Comic Book-Themed MMO Announced
Posted by Nick McCavitt, 53 days ago Jul 16, 2008 21:28

The man behind "Batman: Hush" and "Superman: For Tomorrow" took the stage at the Sony E3 press conference yesterday, first to do some one armed pushups and then, once he got back to his feet, to talk about the new superhero MMO he is currently helping out with. The game, titled DC Universe Online, will feature some of the most well-known names in comic books from both sides of the fence. The trailer that Mr. Lee showed during his speech showed that characters such as the Joker, Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, the Green Arrow, Catwoman, Bane, the Flash, and the Green Lantern will be included in the game.

As with other MMOs, players will have the chance to be either a supervillian or superhero/heroine and will be able to let their comic enthusiasm run wild. Want to lead the inhabits of Arkham Asylum on a breakout and have them rampage around Gotham City? Sure, you can do that. Want to break into the Batcave and mess up Bruce’s tights? You can do that too. If being a doer of evil isn’t your cup of tea, though, you can join in the forces of good in order to stop all these shenanigans from going on all over the city.

It’s not certain from what arc of the DC Universe the game will come from, but it is assured that it will contain a wide variety of your favorite DC characters taken right from the pages of the books they usually appear in. More on this will appear on TGR as we get it.
