In today’s PSN update, you can expect a few expansion packs for the online aspect of Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online. The new pack, called "Gene Expansion," comes in two parts. The first, priced at $11.99, includes is a new mode called Survival and the ability to create a custom female character, as well as Meryl and Akiba as playable characters and three new maps:

• Coppertown Conflict -- Wide streets, underground passages, and rooftop areas that are ideal for close to medium range combat.
• Tomb of Tubes -- An intricate labyrinth of underground passages that are ideal for close to medium range combat.
• Virtuos Vista -- An outdoor map with natural terrain that is ideal for medium to long range combat.

For an extra $3.00, you can even get an additional character slot.

Don’t worry if you don’t feel like paying all that money as there is a free update too. Metal Gear Online will be updated with Metal Gear Online Reward Points and an in-game shop. By competing in tournaments and filling out questionnaires, you will earn reward points that can be used to unlock new gear for you’re character.
