According to an article posted on 1up.com the PS3 port of the Orange Box, which was handled internally by Electronic Arts unlike the PC and Xbox 360 versions which were handled by Valve itself, has been experiencing severe technical issues in game with the frame rate problem being the most obvious. 1UP.com has no information regarding the performance of Team Fortress 2 as they were unable to connect due to a server error but it seems that the only game currently without bugs is the spatial reasoning puzzle game Porta. This further complication of the product already adds to the problems surrounding The Orange Box which is currently delayed for undisclosed reasons. to a release date two months after the PC and Xbox 360 versions.
This seems to be nothing but bad news for PS3 owners who wish to have their own version of the Orange Box to be ported onto a console which Gabe Newell, the founder of Valve, described to 1up.com as “a waste of everybody’s time” in an earlier interview. It is uncertain at the moment how EA plans to address these problems relating to it’s PS3 port of The Orange Box it’s December 11th release date nears.
