Yesterday THQ, makers of such games as WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2008 and Company of Heroes, announced that it had accepted the resignation of Edward Zinser, the Executive President and Chief Financial Officer for THQ, which went into effect immediately upon it’s submission. A temporary replacement, one Rasmus van der Colff who himself has had 20 years with the company, has been appointed to fill Mr. Zinser’s position until a candidate is found to take over the duties of the Chief Financial Officer.
The company added that Mr. Zinser’s resignation did not reflect upon the company’s current financial situation, the successes of it’s various products and titles, or the company’s future strength in the industry. Brian Farrel, the Chairman of THQ, reinforced this opinion by stating that the company still possessed “a deep and experienced management team” and that THQ was “confident in our position.” Mr. Farrel added that THQ were “focused on continued execution on our strategy for long-term growth." THQ also announced that there would be no further comment regarding the resignation of Edward Zinser.
