How much do you know about obscure European monarchs and long-dead literary figures? It’s about to become a whole lot more as Jeopardy!, the popular TV quiz show, is making its downloadable debut on the PSN today.
This digital version of the TV classic includes a host of features including on- and offline multi-player, single-player with three difficulty settings, voice chat support, and over 2,500 clues and categories. If that’s not enough, expansions are already being promised for 2009.
There are a few notable omissions however, including Trophy support and a proper host; not only will you not be getting shiny trinkets for showing off your obscure knowledge, but host Alex Trebek is nowhere to be found. In addition, answers won’t be handled through voice recognition or keypad input, but rather through multiple choice. So now, even if you can’t remember off the top of your head when Brandenburg and Prussia united, the presentation of four options will surely remind you that the fateful event happened in 1618.
Jeopardy! is available now and costs $14.99. For those who prefer their TV game shows to feature wheels and letters over questions and answers, a PSN version of "Wheel of Fortune" is in the works with an as-yet-undetermined release date. In the meantime, get to work showing Ken Jennings he’s got nothing on you.
