Just in case you weren’t already worried about watching your step for booby traps, enemy ambushes and unannounced cliffs in Far Cry 2, there’s a good chance that you’ll run across even more ways to die after the game has launched. According to reports, Ubisoft has plans to introduce predators into the game as part of the post-launch DLC. This means that your nice, quiet hike around the jungle could easily be interrupted by something with teeth, claws and an empty belly.
At the moment, the only fauna in the game consist of herbivores like deer and zebra, and they really don’t figure prominently into the experience at all. However, this update would likely bring in more dangerous animals like lions, tigers and crocodiles, all of which would be more than happy to make a chew toy out of your skull should you venture too close.
The addition of such critters would only be icing on the cake for what is shaping up to be a terrific game, if the first official review is to be believed. It would be quite cool to be traipsing along, absorbed in reading your map to find the next objective when suddenly there is a rustle in the grass and the tiger that’s been stalking you for some time suddenly leaps out in ambush.
Yeah, deadly tigers are pretty sweet.
