This week, Netflix announced that it has decided to phase out Hi-Def DVDs in favor of Sony’s new Blu-Ray system, but it seems that this is not the only use of these next-gen power houses that the company has planned. Netflix has evidently been circulating a survey, according to Engadget.com, which hints at the possibility of the Netflix service coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3. Engadget reported that the Netflix survey asks its users “if as part of your Netflix membership you could instantly watch movies and TV episodes on your TV with your PS3 or XBOX 360, how likely would you/anyone in your household be to do that?" The documentation on the survey stated that a specially created Netflix disc would be used in order to obtain Netflix service on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but added that this new service would lead to no extra charges for Netflix users, except for a three dollar fee for the special disc.
