SOCOM Confrontation Confirmed for September 16th Release

Sony has just announced that its popular online shooter franchise, SOCOM, will be making its Playstation 3 debut on September 16th. This latest SOCOM comes under the title of SOCOM Confrontation.

It will be entirely online and will support up to 32 players. Sony promise’s it will support Online tournaments, Clan ladders, Leaderboards and the ability for users to modify their appearance through facial and physical customization. Sony is also promising to fully support the game once it has been released with regular DLC to be purchased from the Playstation Store.

To celebrate the news that SOCOM has been given a release date, Sony will be launching an online community website devoted to the game under the name SOCOM.com. Before release, the site will provide up to date news updates as well as a place for fans of the game to come together and talk and meet friends who have the same interest in the game. What’s even better is that once the game is released, the website will be fully integrated with the game providing near real-time stats tracking, clan management tools and much more.
