After months of wondering when the console version of Quake Wars was going to get released, we finally have a date. Activision announced earlier today, that Quake Wars will be released for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on May 30th.

Developed by Splash Damage, the creators of the popular Wolfenstein series, and ID software, the people behind Quake, the title pits members of the Global Defense Force (GDF) against an invading alien Strogg Army that is intent on wiping out the resistance.

Quake Wars: Enemy Territory will have one hell of a fight on its hands to attract people away from current top shooters that are dominating Xbox Live and Playstation Network. Quake Wars will have to be something very special to get people’s attention. Although with the name Quake in the title, you have to expect people will give it a shot.
