If you’re like me, the thought of a next-gen Mortal Kombat has you crumbling at the knees, knowing you would be able to “finish him” in all the next-gen glory. Well things are going to get a lot more interesting on that front, as today Midway has announced the next Mortal Kombat Game to be hitting next-gen systems. We all knew that it was coming, as Ed Boon had already come out and said they’re taking inspiration from Gears of War and using the Unreal Engine to make Mortal Kombat even darker.
What everyone was not expecting was the nature of the game. Much like what Capcom did with the Street fighter series, merging at one point to make Marvel Vs Capcom, Midway has confirmed that the next Mortal Kombat game will be in fact Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe. As the title suggests, it will be a cross over with the characters and settings from the DC Comics. Thoughts of Sub Zero Vs Batman and Lui Kang Vs Superman are exploding in peoples’ heads.
What can we expect from this? Will it take the direction of Capcom’s Marvel Vs Capcom series and have tag matches? Or will it go for a one on one approach? How many characters can we expect? And how on earth can anyone stop Superman?
