Nintendo has announced that throughout the entire year, they will be giving away free access to the Nintendo Fan Network. The catch however, is that you have to be a Seattle Mariners Fan.
As you may have already heard, Safeco field recently equipped their ballpark with the ability to access player statistics, MLB Scores, current team standings, the ability to chat with other fans, the ability to answer trivia questions, play mini games, watch in-game live broadcasts and order food all using their Nintendo DS. Safeco Field launched the service during the 2007 Season but has now decided to kick things off with a bang. This year only, anyone who brings a Nintendo DS to a home game at Safeco Field will be able to connect to the Nintendo Fan Network for Free.
The Network will however require you to download the service necessary to connect to the network, which will be available at two Nintendo Fan Network kiosks located in Sections 127 and 143, and will also be available at the 15 download stations throughout the stadium.
At this time there is no indication of what the service will cost after this year or if there is plans to add the service to other ballparks.
