The company made an official announcement today stating that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots would now release sometime in Q2 2008 on the PlayStation 3. Originally, Kojima’s latest and final installment in the series was set to hit the streets in time for this year’s holiday season. It was then delayed until March 2008, but now it looks like gamers will have to hang on just a little bit longer.

"Konami has decided to delay the title’s release in order to make further improvements to the quality of the game and provide even greater enjoyment for more customers worldwide," said the company in an official statement. This is disappointing news, so let’s hope this additional time spent in development will result in the best product possible.
