Sony and Evolution Studios have announced that Motorstorm 2 has had a name change, and will now be called Motorstorm: Pacific Rift. This comes as no surprise due to the location that Motorstorm: Pacific Rift takes place: a tropical island somewhere in the Pacific.
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is the sequel to Playstation 3’s best selling racing game, Motorstorm, which was part of Sony’s PS3 launch titles. It has sold over 2.4 million copies to date, which is a great achievement for an off road racing game.
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift will feature 16 tracks spread across the whole tropical island, involving scenery covered with abundant, thick swamps, dense jungle, towering peaks and steaming volcanoes. Evolution Studios is also promising all of vehicle types from the original, as well as Monster trucks, which they will be throwing into the mix. Online races involving 16 players and four player splitscreen play has been promised.
Developed by Sony’s newly acquired studio, Evolution Studios, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift will be available exclusively for the Playstation 3 this fall.
